Pizza Pizza launches new chicken wings chain-wide
January 24, 2011 (Toronto) – Pizza Pizza announces the launch of its new, revamped chicken wings across restaurant locations in Canada. The new and improved chicken wings feature four new sauces, a new process for preparing the wings and a new price. The launch comes after a successful test in the Hamilton market this past November, leading the way for the wings to be sold chain-wide.
The new chicken wing flavours include Forty Creek Whisky BBQ, Caribbean Jerk, Chipolte Amarillo and Sesame Ginger Teriyaki Thai, which have been added to Pizza Pizza’s existing line up of Sweet Chilli, Honey Garlic and Hot Sauce flavours. The wings are now tossed in a large bowl with tongs to coat each wing individually, a new take on the original method of preparation. For a limited time, the wings will be sold for 50 cents each in orders of 10, 20 or 30 with the purchase of any whole pizza.
“We had great success with our new wings when we tested them in the Hamilton market at the end of 2010,” said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza Limited. “We always want to offer our customers the best products, which is why we are continuously working to develop new flavours and options.”
Pizza Pizza experienced immediate success with the introduction of chicken wings to its menu in the early 1990s. Since its launch, the most popular sauce continues to be Honey Garlic, a classic chicken wing flavour.
