There is a growing trend of woman business owners, but few are taking on the expensive challenge of franchising their company.

The cost of franchising ranges from $50,000 to $200,000, pushing it out of reach of most small businesses. Finding local specialists experienced in establishing franchise systems was difficult. Owner Rebecca Page commented “Ottawa has a well established high tech sector but doesn't have a lot of support for new franchisors.”

Concierge Home Services, a member of the Canadian Franchise Association (www.cfa.ca), worked with a Vancouver-based franchise consultant to prepare legal documents, manuals, and marketing strategy.

Concierge Home Services is a household management company founded in 2001 to provide a full range of cleaning and pet sitting services. They serve a   niche market of homeowners who prefer quality, not quantity; and service, not speed.
