Hampton Hotels Showing Strong Growth
Hampton Hotels, an international brand with just under 1,900 Hampton by Hilton, Hampton Inn & Suites and Hampton Hotels locations, announced its fourth quarter results in January. Its impressive results include the addition of more than 2,000 rooms and the opening of 21 new properties, with the latest add-ons bringing its total rooms all over the world to more than 185,000.
One of the newest additions is the Hampton by Hilton at St. George's Park/Burton upon Trent, Hampton Hotels' first dual-property in the United Kingdom. The hotel is in an excellent location, near the East Midlands Airport and close to major area attractions, such as the Drayton Manor Theme parks.
Currently, 90 new locations are scheduled to open during 2013. Two new locations opened in Columbia in the first quarter of the year, establishing Hampton Hotels' presence in the emerging South American market. Hampton by Hilton Barranquilla, a 125-room location, opened in February and is located near Columbia's famous beaches and Buenavista shopping center. Hampton by Hilton Cartagena, featuring 135 rooms, opened in the Bocagrande district, a popular tourist and travel area.
Hampton Hotels also opened locations in the United States in the first quarter of 2013, with new ones opening in Texas, Missouri, Georgia and North Carolina. Home2 Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites, two global Hilton brands, partnered together for the first time to open a combined property in the city of Huntsville in the state of Alabama. The combined property has 90 Hampton rooms and features amenities such as meeting spaces, a pool and fitness centers.
The newest Hampton enterprise, opened in April of 2013, is located in Houston, Texas. The 90-room hotel is located in the center of the city, across the street from the state's Memorial Park and is less than four miles from the Galleria shopping district. The park's proximity gives guests access to hiking paths and other natural features. Golf courts, tennis courts and other amenities associated with the Hampton Inns brand, such as a fitness facility, are also available.
Hampton Hotels has earned several awards over the last year. Near the end of 2012, Hampton Hotels earned the top spot in Entrepreneur's annual list of the top 500 franchises. This is the third year in a row that Hampton Hotels has landed at the top of the list and the first time a hotel brand has won and kept the top spot in the magazine's Franchise 500 list. Entrepreneur cited Hampton Hotels' strong growth, across its Canadian franchise units and other locations, as one of the primary reasons for the recognition.
Specific Hampton Inns' locations closed 2012 with many awards, including the Connie Award for customer service, the Lighthouse Award for consistently high rankings in areas such as service and quality and the Circle of Excellence Award, also for high rankings in service, accommodations and other areas of the hotel experience.
