Canadian Franchise Association Appoints New President

The Canadian Franchise Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorraine McLachlan as President and CEO.

Ms. McLachlan is an accomplished leader with more than 15 years of experience in the association sector. As former Vice-President, Convention and Special Events, for the Canadian Marketing Association, she oversaw the association’s two flagship events, its sponsorship program, and the consumer Do Not Contact Program.

“I think the future for franchising is extraordinarily bright, and I want to make sure the CFA is leading the charge,” she said. “My skills in management and marketing will help ensure that the good news about franchising will get out there.”

Ms. McLachlan sits on the board of directors for the Trillium Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives and serves as treasurer for the organization. She is a former member of the Board of Governors of Ryerson University. She holds an MBA in Executive Management from Royal Roads University, a bachelor of arts from the University of Toronto, and a diploma in theatre production management from Ryerson University.
