BeTheBoss: Tell us about the ReDeck-It concept.
Michael Fennessy: ReDeck-It is the perfect solution for any concrete surface around your home and business. Transform that ugly, boring concrete into something beautiful. Ideal for driveways, sidewalks, pool decks, patios, garage floors, basements, and more. Our polymer cement based overlays add both strength and beauty to your project.
BTB: How and when did you become involved with ReDeck-It franchise?
MF: Early 70’s. I have made my mark not only in the United States, but on a global scale as well. I have registered trademarks in nearly 60 countries and U.S. patents for equipment that has transformed the world of decorative concrete paving. I have also developed several systems for concrete resurfacing that have revolutionized the industry. I have devoted my life to keeping the pulse on the needs of my dealers and customers. One of my major goals is to develop systems that are user friendly and easy to install.
BTB: What was your background prior to creating ReDeck-It franchise?
MF: My journey began in the late-1970s when I first became initiated into the art of developing state-of-the-art decorative resurfacing systems in South Florida. I have not stopped since. I have been innovating and gaining valuable experience for over four decades from my headquarters in Upstate New York.
BTB: What are some of the advantages in being a ReDeck-It franchisee?
MF: Even those without “do-it-yourself” experience can tackle it. All dealers need to do is mix and place. ReDeck It eliminates all risk factors to customers by blending high-strength cement, aggregates, proprietary fillers, polymers, and color into every pail produced.
BTB: Who is your ideal franchisee?
BTB: Tell us a little about the decorative overlay market?
MF: The ReDeck-It system is for those who want to add beauty and value to their unsightly and drab concrete surfaces in a cost-effective way. ReDeck-It is for those who not only want to beautify their surroundings, but want to do it in a quality and first-class way.
BTB: What are some of the greatest lessons you’ve learned in growing this franchise?
MF: My lessons have been taught by over 30 years of trial and error, blood, sweat, tears and millions in creating Stampcrete and ReDeckIt.
BTB: Do you have a mentor and is their someone you use for inspiration?
MF: I have always traveled my own path and learn by trial and error. That is why ReDeck-It is a great revenue generator that took me over 20 years to create.
BTB: What advice do you have for someone looking to acquire a franchise?
MF: ReDeck-It is the only company that has a program specifically designed for you that includes sending professionals from our corporate offices to your facility to train your staff on how to install the Re-Deck-It system. Let’s face it, in today’s economy money is tight and having your own employees work on your project can result in cutting costs by 40 percent while restoring, preserving and beautifying a vital part of your property’s appearance.
BTB: In your opinion, why do you think that ReDeck-It would be a great franchise opportunity for someone?
MF: ReDeck-It can offer a business that provides not only the material needed to get started, but most importantly the training and marketing to make you successful.
Anyone can work the business.
