Sunshine Grounds Care Franchise Honoured with Award

Sunshine Grounds Care Receives Bronze Award of Excellence.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, ON - Sunshine Grounds Care was honoured with a Bronze place finish for the Award of Excellence in the field of Non-Traditional Emerging Franchises by the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) in an Awards Dinner Ceremony on May 4, 2009.

The CFA has been distributing Awards of Excellence to the very best Canadian franchises since 1992.  Only dedicated CFA franchise companies are considered for the distinction.  Winners are determined by how well a survey taken by both franchisors and franchisees aligns, measuring the amount of compatibility within the company while also allowing participants to see how their business compares with others across Canada.  The award is the most prestigious honour offered by the CFA.  As Sunshine was built by ten brothers who continue to run the business today with a focus on customer care, it may come as no surprise that the 22-year old company operates with such synchronization.

"The relationship skills we've learned working together as ten brothers have proven to be very helpful in building and maintaining franchise relationships," said Peter van Stralen, CEO and 2nd oldest brother. "We treat each other as family"

"A solid relationship between franchisor and franchisee is vital to a system's success," says Lorraine McLachlan, CFA President and CEO. "Sunshine Grounds Care's Bronze placement in the CFA Award of Excellence in Franchising shows that they offer great support to their franchisees."

With such a strong harmony within the company, Sunshine Grounds Care can be confident even as it continues to reach into new markets across North America.

About Sunshine Grounds Care:

Sunshine Grounds Care was created by Tim van Stralen, the oldest of ten brothers, and the company has expanded rapidly in both scale and knowledge as each brother has added their unique touch to the business.  Since its humble inception in 1987, Sunshine Grounds Care has grown beyond the borders of the rural town of Caledon.

Franchises are located in many parts of Ontario, including St. Thomas/London, Barrie/Orillia, Oakville/Burlington/Milton, Hamilton, Brantford/Woodstock, Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph, Collingwood/Wasaga Beach, Vaughan, Markham, Aurora, Mississauga East and West, Brampton East and West, Newmarket, Adjala, Alliston, King City, Orangeville and Caledon.  Outside of Ontario, Sunshine also operates in Chilliwack, British Columbia and Little Rock in Arkansas.  Despite the increasing size of the business, Sunshine has managed to stay committed to a caring and personal relationship with their customers by treating each as though they are another member of the clan.  The company offers industry leading landscape maintenance services for both summer and winter, residential and commercial.

Based on family values of respect, effort and a mutual interest in the well being of the group, Sunshine Grounds Care and the van Stralen family add a whole new meaning to the idea of cooperation in business.
