A Buyer's Choice Inspector Spotlight: James Robinson – Ladysmith, BC

BeTheBoss.ca:  What made you decide to join A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections?

James Robinson: Before joining A Buyer’s Choice, I had a lot of stress around what it would mean to step into a franchise model. After talking with Brad and getting a much clearer picture of how the team works, I realized I wasn’t giving up freedom - I was gaining it. I also gained support, backup, and a stronger sense that I wasn’t building everything alone. That made the decision feel much easier and gave me a lot more confidence moving forward.

.

BeTheBoss.ca:  What has been one of the biggest surprises since joining?

James Robinson: One of the biggest surprises for me has been the ability to actually take time off. I’d been independent since 2016, and for a long time, stepping away from work usually meant I paid for it later one way or another. Since joining A Buyer’s Choice, I’ve been able to pause, breathe, and take time for myself without everything falling apart. That has been a huge change for me, and honestly, a really valuable one.

.

BeTheBoss.ca:  What has A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections helped you do that has supported your growth?

James Robinson: Since joining A Buyer’s Choice, my revenue has probably doubled, and a big part of that has been the backend support. Not having to worry about things like the website and social media has freed up a lot of my time and energy. Now I can focus more on the work itself, choose jobs more strategically, and even take a day off without losing momentum. The system has helped me grow faster by letting me do a little less of the busy work and a lot more of what actually drives the business.

.

BeTheBoss.ca:  What standard do you refuse to compromise on?

James Robinson: One standard I refuse to compromise on is making sure each client feels comfortable before I move on. I won’t rush through an inspection just to stay on schedule if the first client still needs time, clarity, or reassurance. For me, that final walkthrough is an important part of the service, and I want people to leave feeling informed and confident. That attention to each client is something I take seriously, no matter how busy the day gets.
