Pizza Pizza awards pizza for life to its millionth online customer
December 15, 2009 (Toronto) – Pizza Pizza has hit the one million online order mark; to commemorate the occasion the company will celebrate for a lifetime. Lisa King of London, Ontario, was served as the one millionth online customer on Monday, November 30 at 5:36 p.m. when she ordered two large pizzas with bacon, mushrooms and sausage on the first, and pepperoni and bacon on the second. Lisa will be awarded a prize of one free large three topping pizza every month for the rest of her life.
The celebration comes just after the company recently made online ordering available throughout the entire Pizza Pizza chain, which now includes British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec.
“This was the first time I have ever used online ordering,” said Lisa. “I actually prefer ordering this way, especially now since I have won pizza for life.”
Fans and followers of Pizza Pizza’s social network sites, Facebook and Twitter, were able to follow the progress of the online orders through regular updates posted as the company neared the one million order mark. As the numbers became closer Pizza Pizza group members were making statements online like “party at the winner’s house,” and “…man im coming to ur house for pizza every day.” Lisa already has a lot of ‘new friends’ hoping she will invite them over for pizza.
“This is the first time we’ve ever given away pizza for life in a contest, so we are as excited as Lisa is,” said Pat Finelli chief marketing officer of Pizza Pizza. “It’s so nice to have someone as nice as Lisa to celebrate the growth of our team’s online ordering system
