2023 Events To Look Forward To

An exciting component of franchising is the opportunity it offers for networking with others in the business and the wider industry, learning from their successes and keeping up to date on applicable legislative changes. The Canadian Franchise Association is offering a jam-packed calendar of events for this year that many will be eager to participate in.

The first live event was the Franchise Canada Show Toronto, which was held at the International Centre in Mississauga on February 4 and 5. This event is designed for Ontario-based businesses to showcase their wares to potential franchisees and will offer a great opportunity for those just starting out in the industry to learn more about what is involved in running a franchise.

On March 4 and 5, the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary will host Franchise Canada Discovery Day Calgary, while the 2023 National Convention and Gala Awards will be held at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls from April 1 to 3. These conventions will offer attendees the opportunity to develop new skills, learn best practices and immerse themselves in a positive culture that will support them in developing an environment for their own business in which they and their team can flourish.

Additionally, there are many virtual events planned for the first half of this year and many more networking opportunities and events in the early stages of development for the latter part of the year. Wherever you are based, whatever industry you are attracted to or operating within, and whatever you need to learn about franchising to either franchise your existing business or join a franchise, you are sure to pick up valuable tips and advice at whichever event appeals to you.

For those lacking in business confidence, the CFA will be holding a virtual conference on June 8 entitled The Elevate & Empower Summit. Full details are not yet available, but it is likely that this event will help attendees develop their focus on mental health, well-being and positivity in order to deliver business results.

For those who are eager to take an in-depth view of the industry, there are two events on the CFA calendar that might pique your interest. Both will be held in the second half of the year and details are scarce but the titles are catchy; Franchise Law Day is scheduled for September 21, while October 26 is a date for the diary for anyone who wants to learn about Growth & Exit Strategies.

It can be hard to find the time to attend events such as these, but they offer a valuable corporate networking opportunity, and the things you learn could make a significant difference to the profitability of your business. If you are able to take the time to attend at least one event, it is certain to be worthwhile.

Let's keep an eye on a couple of big events coming up soon in North America:
