Telecommunication
From tablets to smart phones, it may seem as though there are as many mobile devices as there are Canadian citizens on any given day. The telecommunications industry is among the fastest growing globally, and Canada is no exception, with the rapidly expanding industry finding new customers each day.
As the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association notes, despite doing much of its expanding in recent years, the telecommunications industry is still a significant player in the Canadian economy, with wireless communications alone accounting for more than $50 billion in economic value for the nation. Additionally, wireless carriers now offer coverage to about 99 percent of Canadians, with more than 27 million Canadians subscribing to wireless phone services.
Telecommunications franchise opportunities provide a unique way to leverage the growth and investment in this industry, which could result in a long-lasting, satisfying and profitable business experience. The Canadian government notes that the wireless communication equipment industry has grown by 188 percent since 2002, and the information and communications technologies sector as a whole constitutes about 5 percent of the entire nation’s GDP.
